Support Activities for Local Children

Under the title “Future Kids Support Academy” our company holds various social events to support the future of local children. These events give children a chance to interact with adults working in various sectors of society to pick up hints to help in thinking about the future. In 2023, a soccer training event for kids was held with players from the local J3 professional soccer team, Iwate Grulla Morioka. We aim to continue providing such opportunities to give children choices for a brighter future.

Great East Japan Earthquake Disaster Support Activities

After the Great East Japan Earthquake struck on March 11, 2011, just one week later on March 18, with the ravages of the disaster still very raw, we began providing support by joining a local medical organization. Even though we were also affected by the disaster, in its immediate aftermath we gained the cooperation of medical-related associates with whom we were familiar and quickly set up a support system.

As the managing company in Iwate Prefecture for the Japan Orthotics Prosthetics Association to receive prosthetics, orthotics, and assistive products, we played a central role in accepting prosthetics, orthotics, and wheelchairs from around the country. We collected relief supplies from outside the prefecture and delivered them to elementary and junior high schools and emergency housing facilities serving as places of shelter in coastal areas. Besides delivering supplies, we coordinated with medical teams that had been dispatched to affected areas, including doctors, nurses, therapists, caregivers, and shelter staff, ensuring that a large amount of relief supplies reached the people who needed them. We also guided medical personnel from outside the prefecture into the area and served as a liaison for the human support services needed at the disaster sites.

We will continue to utilize our network of contacts and experience from 2011 to prepare for any potential disasters going forward by building a support system as a community supporter and member of the Japan Disaster Rehabilitation Assistance Team (JRAT).
